Deceptive sales, make it sound that going with Leisure was the only way to get out of Bluegreen Vacations & paying maintenace fees.

Met with RCI (LGI) representative April 20, 2017. My wife & I led to believe that if we transferred to RCI (LGI) program for a healhty sum of money we would be able to get out of maintenance fees & just maintain our membership fees with RCI(LGI).We have met our contractual obligations but RCI(LGI) have not. From our past experience with Bluegreen we should have known then to be swayed by another "smooth" talker. We were led to believe that if LGI hadn't completed the transfer we would not be liable for future maintenance fees, now we have been told that LGI has 365 days to complete the transfer & we could be liable for another year of maintenance fees.

The issue has been resolved by LGI, they have agreed to take care of any maintenance fees. The staff at LGI were most accommodating in getting the problem resolved. Everything seems to taken care of.

O most got caught

When we got home I googled them and didn’t like what I read. Talk it over with wife in morning after not sleeping well. I realize we were having our timeshare really taken away from us and getting nothing in return and spending 1300.00 for 75000 points big steal. So we were able to cancel it then. Now we still have our timeshares. I think they are a big ripoff company. After I told the head manager of the group that I was sorry he hit a home run the night before but today he’s striking out. The manager got very frustrated with me. The salesman said we could keep the tote he yelled no they can’t. Now we are happy.

We met Mike Wixsom in Fairfield, CT. After explaining our situation to him about our extremely high maintenence fees hw had told us that we should no longer be paying maintenence fees and should be in the Trust with Leisure Getaways. He had told us our offer was expired from 3 years ago. After all was said and done he was able to get me out of my deeded week and put me into RCI Platinum Points. Needless to say we are very grateful we met him and his team that day. They were very profession and listened to our needs amd taylored a packaged that not only fitted our budget but our vacation style. Very satisfied with Mike Wixsom and Leisure Getaways

Updated by user Dec 17, 2016

Nearly two weeks later am still waiting for a serious reply to my complaint. These people have all the earmarks of a *** ball scam company. Will update when I finally hear something that makes sense.

Original review Dec 07, 2016
I finally agreed to attend a meeting on a proposal to buy out my time share. I was told the time share was going to charge an additional $1000 dollar fee, which was a lie. The meeting seemed to be focused on the time share at first, until at sometime I am suddenly given three credit card applications to sign, just to make sure one on them is approved. My credit rating is/was 811 so it was unlikely any would be denied, but it was never explained why I needed a new credit card. I found out later that Barkleys happily approved a card with exhorbitant interest rates (15% +). These cards are required because what you spend on the cards goes to grow points so you can get a "free" week in one of their properties. I ended up with $7450 charged on my new Barkleys (RCI). I am 86 years old and continuously on oxygen and don't travel except to an occasional reunion. My kids don't travel except to help me. On top of all this getting them to take my time share is going to cost an additional $2000. NOTHING BUT A BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM. I have called their customer relations chief, Ben, and have received no satisfaction.

Mr Kroeger,

We have a reservation for you at the Sheraton Vistana Villages for March 24-28th as requested. This was sent to you on 2/9 and we have not received a response from you.

We apologize for the miscommunication and we will call you ASAP to provide you with the confirmation number. Please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do to assist you with your concerns.

You can reach a member of management at 281-825-3844 if you would like to talk in person. Have a blessed day.

Stay far away from this company. They require you to take out a credit card with high interest fees to make payments on your timeshare sell. You are talked into a annual membership vacation scam.

Near exact scenario happened to me at a Spaghetti Warehouse

meeting in Dayton. Ed Pierce said that my timeshare was going to raise the maintenance fee to over $1000.

He explained that I would save more than that and get extra vacations by having them terminate my timeshare. In the process, some how I wound up with an RCI credit card with a debt of $8000 and a requirement to pay $975 to get rid of my timeshare.

I also found that I now had a timeshare in Branson, MO, which I will never go to . I have RCI points to use and a maintenance fee that is more than the one I was going to get rid of.

Vincent,

Good morning and we would enjoy speaking with you regarding your comment above.

You have access to as many points needed, as needed, through our company to ensure you will ALWAYS get on vacation.

Our travel concierge service is a free service to you that will make sure you are getting on vacation 100% of the time.

Regarding the fees on your property, these are required by your resort with or without us. This is simply a service offered by our company that guarantees the removal of your existing timeshares. This is not a service you had to accept and these terms are made clear in the beginning.

As stated to Vincent and the others, please contact me at 281-825-3844 if you are truly here to have your issues resolved.

We are happy to assist you and offer a better explanation and solution as to how this is the best product available when it comes to your travel and vacation needs.

We look forward to speaking with you soon.

I own points now. They are good for the most part. Wish I wouldve got the bigger 50,000 package but unfortunately couldnt afford it at this time. The title work took a little longer than expected, but after 6 or 7 months, they got me out of my old deed.

Leisure Getaways Incorporated holds an extremely high standard for their employees. Sometimes, employees don't always live up their job duties and the company has to separate ties with them in order to provide quality and service for our clients. With that being said, websites like this make it easy for disgruntled employees who were terminated to go on here and post lies about the product and their old supervisors out of spite. Then you have websites such as this one who try to extort companies for money to removed these negative comments. We refuse to be extorted and pay for this nonsense to be removed because we stand behind all our products, services and owners. We will always do the right thing for our corporation and most importantly our clients.

I must agree with Leisure Getaways post. My dispute was solved to my complete satisfaction, after getting access to the top.

As a former employee I can personally say, LGI treats their employees horrible! Not only do they verbally abuse employees but they find several reasons NOT to pay them what they are owed.

How they treat their clients is another story, they claim to have world class customer service, when in reality they do not even have a customer service department, they are ex sales reps that have no clue what they are doing, the head of CS is only in the office because he cannot leave the state due to criminal reasons. LGI consists of criminals and liars.

John I Cei

I don't remember seeing a lot of complaints from your ex-employees. The vast majority come from dissatisfied customers. That is the case with other complaint sites also.

I would be more worried about how you treat your customers.

Leisure Getaways - Review in Hotels and Resorts category

LGI uses deplorable tactics, including bold face lies. Was tol I can maximize my units value by signing over my deed in favor of point system. I asked what would happen to the deeded property and was told the resort will take it back. *** ! They have no interest in getting inventory back. When asked again, the sales person said "we really add it to our inventory" and rent it out through the point system. I know this stuff is not illegal, butbit sure as *** should be ! Trlling everybody of my opinion about LGI ! (Including my Lawyer)

Another One Ripped off by Leisure Getaways !

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Please ! Please ! Please ! People if there is anyone out there that could help us to get a class action suit with this company going ! Please let it be known, who to contact ! Put it on Facebook, news, radio etc. ! This needs to Stop ! This company is ripping people off left and right (especially Seniors) promising them something verbally, having them to initial papers that don't say what they've promised (verbally) knowing most people don't read all the things in there so called contract during the dinner meeting. And later when people realize their contract doesn't read the same as what they were promised (verbally) it's too late ! They've taken your money and property (timeshare), and all they say when you call to inquire is that they are not responsible with what their licensed rep. told you and you signed the papers and that's your contract. The so called contract basically says ( You paid them $4000-$7000 to get you out of your maintenance fees with your "Owned Timeshare", and you are responsible for all fees to turn it over to them and you continue to pay all maintenance fees until that happens ! What you get for giving them your Timeshare and $4000-$7000 is a discount (hopefully) on any hotel or resorts under their RCI Leisure Plan. (which is next too impossible ) ! When you try and schedule a something (hotel, resort ) through their so called Conceirge (whom you were told would always be available...you get a voicemail telling you to go online and do it yourself )! Which is very vague, and chances are you may not get a response ! I didn't! response ! (so sad and pitiful) I found out today that ( RCI and Leisure Getaways ) is not connected to Wyndham or RCI ( the real resort timeshares) in anyway !!! I was told during my dinner meeting with RCI, and Leisure Getaways) that they were all one conglomerate Timeshare Plan, all were under the same umbrella, so any place I wanted to go would be more available because they all worked together ! ( NOT TRUE ) ! No connections ! *This so called company," Leisure Getaways Incorporation" was developed to scam and rip people off especially seniors and I can see they have been successful thus far with me and many others. It's a shame and disgrace that some people make their living doing this! But one day they will pay for what they're doing !! i hope and pray something can be done about this soon and stop them before they rip off too many more other people !!

We are interested in joining the class action lawsuit. We need details please.

If you haven't already, check with your State Dept of Licensing - chances are they were not registered and/or licensed in your State, making the transaction illegal. We too are looking into a class action suit pretty much for the same reasons.

This happened to my Dad. He wants to use his points this year to get a vacation and he hasn't gotten any response.

He supposedly "went up the ladder" to get more satisfaction and the response was, "Oh! My! Well! We'll see what we can do for you!" Then the original guy contacted my Dad again and assured him that he was looking for a place for him.

It has been over 2 weeks!

He wants to have a vacation using his points after shelling out something like $13k to get rid of the timeshare. What a rip-off to someone who has worked hard all of his lfe and simply wanted to leave a wonderful vacation opportunity to his heirs.

I have had nothing but good experiences with LGI...this is obviously a negative review website, but for us, we have gone on two trips last year and one so far this year with our 30,000 pts (which we paid a little over $15,000 for after we traded in one of our old timeshares). We doubled our time and lowered our fees to less than $500 so I am not sure how people can have such bad experiences. Everyone has been professional and even though the title transfer took a little longer than expected, it all went good. Just have to make sure you send them what they asked for. For people to write such angry reviews must be really mad...or they didn't do as they were told and send what was requested.

We were finally able to put this issue to bed - LGI made us a satisfactory settlement and we are looking forward to actually using the timeshares next year.

Updated by user Aug 16, 2016

The issue has now been satisfactorily resolved with LGI

Updated by user May 29, 2016

No, the issue has not been resolved. They offered more points, but more points does not fix the unavailability of resorts - just adds to the unusable points. Thus far, they have not responded to my last email, or my last update here.

Updated by user Apr 30, 2016

answered all of these that I had information on beforfe

Original review Apr 29, 2016
In March 2015, we were invited to dinner to "update" us on our timeshare package. When we arrived, it turns out it was not our timeshare, but a totally different timeshare program which they would gladly trade us for our old one. The new program was totally misrepresented as to resorts available within the confined area we were interested in and as to the availability of those resorts. After 13 months, we have not found a single resort with available units during the specified period of June 20 to August 30 - for as far out as 2018. We complained about this issue in June 2015 and requested the entire deal be recinded, only to be placated with an added 30,000 points (at no additional cost) and the return of our traded timeshare property. To date, our out-of-pocket costs for these useless points exceeds $8,300. This is absolutely a ripoff of the general public and should be a prosecutable, criminal offense - beginning with the initial pretense of being our "current" timeshare agents wishing to update us on an existing program.

I was indeed contacted by LGI this afternoon and they have proposed some changes to our package. I will be taking a few days to review the pros and cons of their proposal, but any usage for 2016 is seriously doubtful and no way of knowing what might become available for 2017 at this time.

I appreciate LGI contacting me. We will have to wait and see if any amicable resolution can be attained.

Resolved: LGI Timeshare Ripoff-buyer beware!!

Updated by user Nov 16, 2016

We were finally able to resolve this issue with LGI once we got to the right person.

Updated by user Jul 21, 2016

I recently received a letter from Washington State Department of Licensing which stated that the entire transaction with LGI was illegal due to their not being registered and/or licensed in WA State. Therefore, we are entitled to a full refund of the timeshare purchase.

About the same time, I received another contact from LGI stating they were willing to make a monetary settlement to satisfy us, but it has been a few days since I heard from them so this may be just like the last contact that went nowhere. If they don't respond by end of today, guess I will contact an attorney to see what would be the next step to getting the refund.

Updated by user Jun 15, 2016

No, there has been no resolution to our problem with LGI. Obviously their "satisfaction guaranteed" slogan is just like the product they sell - bogus!

Updated by user Jun 07, 2016

Two weeks and no further response from LGI. Obviously, they have no intentions of proceeding with any resolutions.

Updated by user May 26, 2016

LGI graciously offered to increase our total annual points by 35% at no additional cost. However, if the problem is that there are no Resort units available, an increase in points doesn't fix that.

We would just have more points we are unable to utilize. We do not find this to be a satisfactory resolution.

Original review May 16, 2016
If you don't mind flushing your cash down the toilet, by all means buy timeshares from LGI. We have yet been able to find a resort within our limited travel abilities to even stay at - booked solid for over 2 years of summers. We were lied to, and the entire program was misrepresented from the beginning. I might add, the entire room was filled with "elderly" people - easier to work their scams on. They implied they were agents for our original timeshare plan updating us with a new concept to exchange for - VI had never heard of them and had no association with them what-so-ever. They had some really slick, fast-talking salesmen put on a high pressure sales pitch - tonight only special!! Sure we had 6 days to recind - but had no additional information to make that decision with until 6 months later. It is a total RIP OFF!!!

This is obviously a disgruntled ex employee because they set their post up as anonymous because they know and understand lies and slander are illegal. If this was an actual true complaint by a true customer they would have made it with the BBB and not on here as an anonymous person. Consumers know and understand websites like these have no merit as ARDA and the BBB are what's important for reviews!
